Jan. 01, 1968 - Students Riot In Louvain.: Flemish and French speaking Belgians are again at each other's throats. Flemish students at the ancient Catholic university of Louvain take violent exception to the introduction of French into some of the faculties. Louvain, they claim, is Flemish soil; and the university therefore must be maintained as a Flemish preserve. French speaking students and staff should emigrate to Wallonie.
