Demonstrations
Mar. 03, 1968 - Dangerous riots have been taken place when the Police moved into Rome University to remove several hundred students who have occupied university buildings and disrupted normal classes for nearly three weeks. Police acted after Pietro D'Avack, the university rector told 2.000 students outside the university the situation had become insupportable and he asked for police intervention. Some of the students lay down on floors or gripped stair railings when police moved in. In some cases police picked them up and hurled them bodily from the buildings.
