Sep. 09, 1968 - Riots at the Frankfurt Book Fair. As the conferment of the peace award of the German Book Trade to Leopold Senghor, States President of Senegal, riots between the police and more than thousand demonstrators took place in Frankfurt yesterday. The demonstrators wanted to prevent the conferment and called Senghor a students murder'. among the juvenile demonstrators, many of them are members of the SDS (Sozialistischer Deutscher Studentenbund), was the German French Daniel Cohn Bendit, leader of the Paris riots in May. He was taken into custody when breaking a barriers in front of the Frankfurt Paulskirche. OPS: Riots in the streets of Frankfurt
