Mar. 03, 1967 - Sit-In Strike Students Stay All Night: Four hundred students at the London School of Economics went on a sit-down strike inside the school last night. They said they would stay on strike all night in protest over the suspension of two students, Mr. David Adelstein, president of the Students Union, and Mr. Marshall Bloom, president of the Graduates Association. The school's disciplinary board suspended Mr. Adelstein and Mr. Bloom until the end of the summer term for disobeying an order not to organize a students meeting at the school six weeks ago. Immediately yesterday's suspension were announced the Students Union Council told their members to boycott lectures. Students walked out of the classes and crowded into the main lobby and corridors where they sat shoulder to shoulder singing protest songs. Barricades were put up by the students at the main entrance. Early today 300 students were still in the school.
