Jun. 06, 1970 - Tokyo Students Riot Over Japan US Security Treaty Continuation. Fireworks erupted in the streets of Tokyo, when thousands of radical students battled riot police following the automatic continuation of the Japan US Security Treaty. The students armed with Molotov cocktails, steel bars, stones and bamboo poles, were kept at bay by thousands of riot police armed with tear gas gun, batons and Roman gladiator type shields.
