Jul. 07, 1970 - Opening of London's New M-Way-Angry Residents Protest: The official opening of london's newest stretch of Meterway-the30 million Western Avenue extension was part med by Michael Haseltine Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of transport today. Just before the opening about 100 residents who live in houses that overlook the new meterway marched to the opening ceremony to protest about their living conditions due to the heavy lorries lumbering past very minute of the day. Photo shows.
