Oct. 22, 1970 - Philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre was expected at a correctional court in Paris where he was supposed to witness the trial of Alain Gesimar, leader of the Proletariat Left. Sartre went to the Renault factories in Boulogne-Billancourt instead where workers were haranguing. He encouraged popular violence'. He is pictured during his speech at the factory
