Mar. 03, 1972 - Ulster Hated By Strike: The Ulster general strike called by Mr. William Craig, leader of the militant Vanguard Protestants, in protest against direct rule, paralysed the province yesterday. All public transport, including air services, was halted. Factories, dockyard and shops closed as workers walked o t to attend rallies. Mr. Craig told a cheering crowd of 20, 000 in Belfast: We have got to fight; we will fight. I promise you victory. The strike continue today.
