Jul. 22, 1972 - Four Dockers Go To Jail - And More Than The Nation's Dockworkers Out In Protest: Four London dockers were in Pentoville prison last night after they and a colleagues had been ordered to be jailed for contempt by the Industrial Relations Court. The four in jail are Bernard Steer, Derek Watkins, Anthony Merrick and Cornelius Clancy. More than half the nation's dockworkers are out on strike in protest today and the rest are certain to stop work on Monday. A number of dockers picketed outside Pentonville Prison today.
