Aug. 08, 1972 - Dockers And Police Clash At Colchester Quay: Lorry drivers defied stone - throwing dockers pickets when they drove their lorries through their lines at Hythe Quay Colchester, today. Some 300 dockers held abuse at the drivers as they left the quay with their lorries laden with continental fishmeal. Later a scuffle bracke out between the police and the dockers pickets.
