May 05, 1973 - Population day march. TV personality Michael Parkinson and his wife, Mary, today a a population day march, calling for population control methods. A petition was handed in at No.10 downing street, calling on the government to Recognise and declare publicly that the size of the British population is a rightful concern of the government plan to halt population growth and to stablise at a level that can be sustained. and act now by implementing well planned and coluntary measures to halt population growth. photo shows General view during today's march
