May 05, 1973 - Hamburg: Police clears occupied house. 45 policemen in civilian clothes of a mobile operation and 60 men in uniform of the Hamburg police attacked in a blitz action in the early morning of May 23 a house which a larger group of youth had held occupied since April 19. A squad of almost 400 men had been drawn near the house to interfer if necessary. Transportable leaders, compressed air hammers and tear gas had not to be used. the police occupied the house within 10 minutes, ren all rooms and arrested, temporarily, 70 persons, 24 of them women. During the clearance action 5 policemen and 12 tenants were injured, one of them being in bad condition. In the beginning the tenants had offered strong resistance fighting the police in the stair-case. Photo shows one demonstrant is being arrested
