Dec. 13, 1977 - Delta-leftists riot in Rome on anniversary of Milan bank massacre: Ultra-leftists, including students staged riots in Rome central on the eight anniversary of the bombing of the agricultural Bank in Milan in which 22 persons were killed. The bombing was blamed on rightist factions. Rome police used tear gas to quell the rioters who burned cars, and caused property damage to shops and bars. During the round-up of demonstrators the police arrested 328 young men. Photo shows Rome riot police with rifles fitted with tear gas canisters and metal shields
