Jul. 07, 1978 - Strike Call by Defense Workers after Navy's Loading of Polaris goes ahead; Many defense establishments could be crippled if a call for strike is headed today by representatives of 183, 000 industrial civil servants. Local Leaders of the transport and General Workers Union at the Faslane nuclear base on Gare Loch and at Coulport on Lock Long, where missiles are stored and loaded into Polaris submarines will call for strike action at a meeting of senior shop towards at York. It will be their response to Government action yesterday when Navy and management staff began loading and provisioning the Polaris Revenge which had been Blacked in support of a pay claim.
