Aug. 08, 1977 - Violence Flares At The Notting Hill Carnival: Mobs of rioting youths clashed with police during the Notting Hill Carnival last night as police moved in they were met with a hail of beer can and bottles, bricks chair legs. By midnight the number of injured had reached 220, of which 90 were taken to hospital some with stab wounds.
