Aug. 30, 1977 - Violence Flares At The Notting Hill Carnival: Mobs of rioting youths clashed with the police during the Notting Hill Carnival last night as police moved in they were met with a ball of beer cans and bottles, bricks and chair legs. By midnight the number of injured had reached 220, of which 90 were taken to hospital, some with stab wounds.
