May 26, 1981 - Violent Playtime in the streets of Belfast: They are experts in streets war tactics and fighting and can identify weapons from their sound alone, giving its type and name from a hundred yards away. For these children taking an active part in the rioting in the streets of Belfast their deadly game is a normal, if not more normal, than a game of football. For these young war veterans the streets of the trouble-torn city are their violent playground'. These pictures were taken during a lull in recent rioting in the Divis flast area of the Falls Road.
