Demonstrations by CGT trades union in Buenos Aires

Oct. 26, 1965 - Demonstrations In Buenos Aires - The Argentine Goverment's decision to control the political activities of the workers organisation CGT (Confederacion General del Trabajo), and who may intervene if it confirms that the chiefs of the CGT are using the contributions of their members for political purposes, caused a series of demonstration by the CGT. This organisation, mainly controlled by Peronists and communists, ordered their 2, 000, 000 members to provoke demonstrations and to resist the police if necessary. Various demonstrations were held in parts of Buenos Aires and police had to use tear gas. Several people were injured.
