Demonstrations following Rudi Dutschke attack, Germany
Apr. 16, 1968 - Tensions reached a fever point across Germany as demonstrations following the assassination attempt on the political activist Rudi Dutschke were held all across the country on Easter Day in major cities like Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt. Police were thoroughly prepared for the protests. In Munich over 1, 000 officials were on duty. Nightsticks and water cannons were used as well and over 110 people were arrested. Pictured here is a reporter who was seriously injured when people were throwing stones
