Demonstrations supporting Cuba in Montevideo, Uruguay

Sep. 09, 1964 - Demonstrations In Montevideo, Uruguay: In spite of the low temperature (three degrees) 15, 000 people demonstrated recently - a little before the severance of relations - along the 18th July Avenue, in the heart of Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, chanting: Cuba, yes; Yankees, no and No severance - the people are with Cuba'. This was the fifth big demonstration in Montevideo after the OAS conference sponsored by the National Coordinating Committee for support of the Cuban Revolution, and the Uruguayan Workers Center and the University Students Federation backed by the progressive circles of the country. This poster in Montevideo reads: Do not let our sovereignty be trampled
