Demonstrators demanding release of Gavriel Shapiro
Jul. 21, 1972 - Rabbis joining other Jewish demonstrators at the entrance to the Soviet Embassy in London yesterday in protest against Russia's refusal to allow Gavriel Shapiro, 27, a Moscow Chemist, to join his American wife in the United States. The couple married in Moscow on June 8th. Shapiro now faces trial on a charge of evading military service but claims that he is an Israeli citizen
