Feb. 19, 1953 - New Laboratory Opened: Mr. H.R. Mackeson, M.P. - the Overseas Secretary, yesterday performed the opening ceremony of the new Crookes Laboratories, at Park Royal. Mr. Mackeson had to don specially sterilised clothes - shoes - gloves and mask before entering one of the new pressurised aseptic ampoule filling rooms, where the air is filtered - to watch girls at work. The young ladies employed in this room have to be A.L. in health before they are allowed to work there.
