Mar. 03, 1953 - St. Pictures of test plant for gas turbine warships: The British Government has just revealed a hush-hush test plant where the Royal Navi is testing out gas-turbine marine engines that will power super-fast warships as a form of over-dirve'. The test plant is at the National Gas Turbine Establishment, Fernborough, England, where much of the back-room work on British jet aircraft engines has been done.
