Mar. 03, 1956 - TV eyes Atom Pile; A British firm has produced a television camera to keep an eye on the inside of an atomic reactor furnace in temperature of 150-200 degrees centigrade. Protected by a stainless steel casing, the 30 in long camera operates by remote control. The camera's temperature is expected to be kept down to about 50 degrees centigrade by pumping carbon dioxide to it through the rubber housing of the control cables. After testing, the instrument is to be installed at the British atomic power station at Calder Hall, Cumberland. Photo Shows The camera is held by Mr. W.L.
