Oct. 23, 1959 - Ancient Food Tested At Research Council 4, 000 Years Old - Found In Jericho Tomb: Food excavated by the British School of Archeology in Jerusalem - from a tomb in the world's oldest town - ancient Jericho - has been tested at the Food Research Association, Leatherhead - and it is estimated to be 4, 000 years old. As the food has been subjected to normal atmospheric conditions in the tomb - it is being investigated to find what caused them to be in such a surprising state of preservation. Photo Shows: Miss Eleen Chatt, Chief analyst at the association - working on some of the food, 4, 000 years-old-before the TV cameras - at the station today
