Mar. 03, 1959 - Army Personnel -undergo Heat Tests': Volunteer Army Personnel are now undergoing a series of Heat Tests - at the Army Research Establishment at Hampstead. The tests include lifting 50 1b ammunition boxes - in rotation on and off a make-believe lorry tailboard - in a room with humidity of Dew point 84. This is carried out in four hour periods - of 30 min of lifting and 30 min. Break which includes recording periods. At the end of each period - four men observes examine the volunteers condition of breathing - pulse etc. Throughout the test the volunteers wear and 1mp mask (Integrating Motor Cinematographer) which records breathing - oxygen content etc. Photo Shows Terence Mitchell of Ryde drinks hi half liter of water -while wearing the 1mp mask - at the end of a 30 min period. All the drink is kept at the same temperature
