Dec. 21 New treatment gives hope to childless wives A new treatment giving hope to childless wives who want a baby of their own, has been developed by Dr. Carl Gemzell, 50-year old professor of the Caroline Hospital in Stockholm. The first two of six women given the new treatment have both had twins. Hormones are given by injection. The treatment lasts a month. Dr. Gemzell described the case of Mother no. 2, who had been unable to have a baby throughout her seven years of marriage. Treatment began in January last year when the patient was given hormones for ten days, then ten days of shot of another hormone. Dr. Gemzell said: In March we found she was expecting a child.
