Dec. 12, 1958 - Chicken Pox puts finish family in a spot as they emigrate to Australia: The Peltonen family, Father, mother and five children, were on their way to start a new life in Australia. But now the would be migrants who sold up their home in Finland and sailed for London on board the Russian liner Baltika, are downhearted. At sea 7 year old Maaret developed chicken pox and when the ship docked at Tilbury on Monday she was sent by ambulance to an isolation hospital at Gravesend. Yesterday Karl - their six year old also went down with chicken - pox and was driven to join his sister. The Baltika later moved to Surrey Docke and the rest of the family stayed on board until British immigration authorities have decided what to do for the family.
