Dec. 12, 1958 - Chicken-pox puts Finnish family in a post as they emigrate to Australia.: the Peltonen family, Father. mother, and five children, were on their way to start a new life in Australia. But now the would-be migrants who sold up their home in Finland and sailed for London on board the Russian liner Baltika, are downhearted. At sea 7-year-old Maaret developed chicken-pox and when the ship docked at Tilbury on Monday she was sent by ambulance to an isolation hospital at Gravesend. Yesterday Karl - their six-year-old son also went down with chicken-pox and was driven to join his sister. The Baltika lator moved to Surrey Dcoks and the rest of the family stayed on board until British immigration authorities have decided what to do for the family.
