Never a wrong number - Western Electric's Dee Ellen Jarboo demonstrates the infallibility of a new telephone that always calls the right number. Yes, there's a catch: the phone can reach only one number. An inexpensive alternative to a tie line, it uses a preset number (chosen by the customer) that is called by simply pushing a button. Unlike the tie line, which requires special connections, calls from the one-number dialer travel through the regular switching network. It is expected to be used as an emergency phone along highways and by airline and car rental patrons for 24-hour service from otherwise closed reservations counters. The phone is scheduled for customer testing by the Boll System
