Feb. 26 Art And Science What is going on at an experimental station at Dungeness, England, provides a photograph that has the quality of a painting. The men (left) work on an installation, containing 400 solar cells atop a prototype of a fog signal. The installation is a pilot scheme for lighting marine buoys by sun-powered batteries, the first of which it is hoped will be in operation by 1963. Dungeness Lighthouse (center) has already been fitted with a fog signal developed from the prototype. On the right is an experimental rig of compressed air receivers, used for driving air-blown fog signals. On top of it is another prototype, of an electric fog signal soon to be installed in a number of light ships
