Mar. 22 Janice Murray of Varian Associates Vacuum Divison inspects one the company's radical new vacuum locks which trap air molecules by freezing them with liquid nitrogen at -397 F. Called a Cryosphere, the cold trap is part of the new Varian Innovac vacuum system used to make electronic microcircuits in the super-clean atmosphere of outer space. The system is being intoduced this week at the IEEE annual convention and exhibition in New York City
