Apr. 17 Topical H Bomb Finder: An all-out effort is now being made to recover four unarmed hydrogen bombs lost in some 800 feet of ice and water off the coast of Greenland following the crash of a U.S. B-52 bomber. Experts believe that the only undersea vessel capable of recovering the bombs is this strange-looking vehicle called CURV. A U.S. Navy deep-sea recovery vehicle, it is equipped with flood lighting and an RCA television camera. It was the CURV that retrieved a hydrogen bomb off the coast of Spain early in 1966.
