Mar. 31 US to honor British cancer research worker; Coming to the US on Monday, April 5 is Doctor Louis Harold Gray, British cancer research worker who will receive the Catherine Berkin Judd award for having made the greatest advance toward discovering a cure for cancer in 1953. He is one of four recipients of awards for progress in this field. A former student of Britain's famed Cavendish Laboratory, Cambrige, in 1938 he gained the Roentgen Award for research in radiation dosimetry. He is at present working with the research staff of the mount Vernon Hospital and at the Radium Institure, Northwood, Middlesex, England. His present award will be made at a New York Academy of Medicine dinner on April 7 and during his stay he will visit various research institutions, including Oak Ridge.
