Feb. 02, 1960 - Farmer Invents New Hayride: Behind a tractor and on its way to the barn with a neat stack of 20 bales of hay is the Bale-Master, the invention of Mr. John W. Gale, a farmer in the English county of Wiltshire. Five sliding prongs stack the bales on the carrier and when they are in place side gates close and hold them firmly in place.
