Oct. 10, 1961 - Housewives Snap Up Beat-The-Polio Bargains. Mass Attack on Polio - In Hull: Fifty emergency clinics were set up in Hull - yesterday - where people received their ration of anti-polio vaccine - in the form of two drops on a lump of sugar. One of the clinics was in a store in centre of the city - where the customers snapped-up the bargains'. Yesterday the number of polio victims in the city roase by one - to 47.
