Aug. 20, 1964 - American criminologist can tell whether a six-year old child will grow up a delinquent; Dr. Eleanor Glueck, a 66 year old American, and one of the world's top criminologists, believes it is possible to tell wether a 6 year old child is likely to grow up delinquent. Working at Harvard Law School with her husband Professor Sheldon Glueck, she has spent forty years finding ways of identifying future criminals almost as soon as they start school. Now she reckons she can do it by analyzing the answers to three questions about the home life of any 6 year old. Dr.Glueck explained why six was chosen as the crucial age. During a study of many adult and juvenile offenders, she said, it was found that 90 percent of them first displayed signs of anti social behaviour before they were 10 years old. So with her husband she started a massive research into the backgrounds of young people who had got into trouble - and compared them with children who had not.
