Mar. 28, 1966 - British companies new x-ray picture equipment - success of300, 000 development: As a result of a ten-year development programme by two English Electric companies, a new X-ray image intensifier which is more effective and cheaper than similar foreign made equipment, has been put into production. The equipment, which uses advanced television techniques, has been developed jointly by Marooni Instruments of St. Albans and the English Electriv Value Company of Chelmsford - the result of a300, 000 development programme. Avery high standard of picture definition is provided by the equipment and also enables patients to undergo extensive X-ray examination while subjecting them to only minimum amounts of radiation. Photo shows with the aid of Jennifer Watson Smith (as patient) and Mr. K. McKella, both from Mareoni Industries, the X-ray image intensifier is demonstrated in London today
