Nov. 11, 1969 - A Small electric motor that runs- literally red hot - at temperatures of more than 1400 degrees Fahrenheit is demonstrated by Dr. Craig S. Tedmon, Jr. a metallurgist at the General Electric Research and Development Center. This believed to be the highest temperature at which an electric motor has ever operated, surpassing the previous record of 9000 degrees F. set in 1957 by a GO servo motor
