Nov. 11, 1971 - Waterlilies on the Olympic Lake in Munich.: The promise of a 1972 Olympic Games in pleasant surroundings is rapidly reaching the stage of fulfilment: this lovely little lake in front of the partially completed swimming stadium is already adorned by waterlilies. Both lakes - apart from beautifying the environment - will also serve a specific practical purpose: Water collecting on the gigantic roof of the stadium on rainy days will be diverted into these lakes whose waterlevels through heavy rainfall are estimated to rise by 4 inches in 5 minutes
