Feb. 02, 1974 - Unique Method for Goods Storage. Under the Sea: Collaboration between the famous Swiss Oceanorgrapher, Professor Jacques Piccard and the Swedish inventor, Engineer Svan Swallert, is about to result in a new method of goods storage. Big containers can be anchored on the sea bottom or at specific depths below the water surface, and can be brought to the surface via radio signals. In a special type of container it will be possible to store fresh water towers, say inventors Piccard and Swallet, who are now going to introduce their invention in Sweden in cooperation, with, among others count Sigvard Bernadotte. The idea is : Art a certain depth there is a constant temperature of +4C. To construct cylinder-shaped containers and lower them into the sea offers large storage space with several advantages over conventional storing: As already mentioned, threre is a constant temperature, no fire risks, no air variations that affect metals, no condentation and of course no burglary risks. The problem that made Svan Swallert ask professor Piccard for assistance was the technical difficulties with the enormous pressure at very big depths. This has now been solved and the first prototype will be ready for testing this summer. Photo shows Proffesor Jaques Piccard (left) and enginner Sven Swallert
