Oct. 10, 1974 - Lord Shinwell - 90 today - presents Self-Propelling chair to thalidomide boy.: A 15-year old Thalidomide boy today celebrated with Lord Shinwell, the Labour peer's 90th birthday. Eddie Freeman, of Stevenage, Herts, born without arms or legs, received a self-propelled chair from Lord Shinwell at a luncheon held at the Savoy Hotel. It is the first of 24 chairs for Thalidomide victims from the Otis Elevator company. Photo shows Lord Shinwell seen with Thalidomide boy, Eddie Freeman, after presenting him with the self-propelled chair today. Behind is Mr. Jack Ashley
