Nov. 07, 1974 - November 7th, 1974 Doctor Angry at Phasing Out of Pay Beds Angry doctors were told yesterday that the Government intends to start phasing out pay beds from January 1st and to impose new conditions on fee paying patients entering State hospitals. But even greater anger was caused by disclosure of Government plans for a new consultants contract. Doctors believe it will end private medicine inside and outside the Health Service.
