Mar. 03, 1976 - Nuclear Scientist Adolf Birkhofer will be awarded the Otto Hahn prize on March 21st 1976; The Munich nuclear scientist, professor Adolf Birkhofer will receive the Otto Hahn Prize of the city of Frankfurt on March 21st. The award, endowned with 25, 000 DM, is given every two years to a scientist, who deserved well of the research on safety of nuclear power plants. The peaceful using of nuclear energy as defined by Otto Hahn. Professor Birkhofer is head of the laboratory for reactor control in garching near Munich and professor for reactor dynamics and reactor safety at the Technical University in Munich. Being the chairman of the commission for reactor safety and a leading member of the institute for automation techniques, professor Birkhofer has made a major contribution to the solving of safety problems.
