1977 - Royal Greenwich observation exhibition Herstmonoeur castle, sussex. The Royal Greenwich observatory, Heretmonoeux Castle, Sussex was opened today as a permanent exhibition on astronomy. The Ceremony was performed by Mr Patrick Moore, the famous astronmer who is well known for his television programme The Sky at night. The exhibition the first of its kind ever mounted at the Observatory, is being housed in a part of the Castle, and members of the public will still be able to visit the castle. It will display the history of the observatory and Castle, part of the presents programme of research and say something about future developments. Photo shows Professor F.Graham Smith.
