May 05, 1979 - Sir Barnes Wallis Reunited with His Bouncing Bomb. Sir Barnes Wallis, 87, father of the Dambuster bomb, reunited with his bouncing baby which was presented to 617 Sqn during a ceremony at RAF Middle Wallop, Hants, yesterday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Observer Corps. Members of the Corps recovered pieces of test bombs in a wood near Forcingbridge, Hants, and put them together with Sir Barnes's help
