Aug. 08, 1977 - MOTHER OF HEART GIRL FINDS NEW LOVE IN SOUTH AFRICA: Mrs. Helen Pieri, 40, at Heathrow Airport with her daughter Katrina, aged 5, after arriving from South Africa where Dr. Christiaan Barnard had performed a heart operation on the child. The Pieris trip was paid for by the people of Bletchley, who raised £5, 000 so Katrina could have the operation. Mrs. Pieri stayed at the Capetown home of her cousin Margaret and fell in love with her husband Desmond Holland-Muter. She met her husband David on her arrival back in England and told him she wanted a divorce-and that she was flying back to Capetown with Katrina and hoped to marry Desmond as soon as he could get a divorce from her cousin Margaret
