Oct. 10, 1983 - 81 year old Geneticist wins nobel prize for medicine: It was announced today that 81 year old geneticist Barbara Mcclintock has won the 1983 Nobel Prize for medicine. Ms Mcclintock won the prize for her work with Indian corn which was first announced to the world in 1951.
