Derek Wright on trial for conspiracy to murder, London

May 05, 1953 - Yacht Owner alleged To Have Entered Into A Pact To Murder Ex-Wife's Husband: Derek Howard Wright, yacht owner, was alleged at Bow Street yesterday to have entered into a pact with a man to murder his ex-wife's new husband - and then to have found that the willing killer was a Scotland Yard officer acting under orders. Evidence was given by Detective Sgt. France Da Vies of the Flying Squad - who was the Willing Killer'. He said he and Wright had a long conversation - the substance of which was that he should go to Stratford-on-Avon and arrange a motor accident and thereby kill a man named James Byrne. He added that Byrne was the husband of Wright's former wife. He said that Wright gave him five 1 notes and half of a torn cheque for 150. Wright was remanded.
