Nov. 11, 1952 - Experimenting on Silk Fabrics for Coronation Hanging in Westminster Abbey: Work is in progress at Messrs Warner and Sons, Braintree, Essex, experimenting on the weave for a silk fabric in rich design for the covering of large parts of Westminster Abbey, during the Coronation ceremonies. Messrs Warner are producing the special velvet for the Queen's Coronation Robes. Photo shows draughting designs for the new material today is June Swindells of Braintree at the factory
